I take always been told to expect for 1 hour before eating, after taking my thyroid medicine. The food interferes with the absorption of synthroid. Some people have their Synthroid or other T4 med before going to sleep at night. That might piece of work improve for y'all. I take mine every morn when i get upwards - then yes you lot have to wait an 60 minutes earlier eating. if you accept some atomic number 26 suppl or certain types of vitamins check with teh pharmacist, some y'all need to wait iv hrs subsequently taking synthroid beofre taking. |

The literature that comes with Synthroid says to wait 30 to lx minutes before eating, but experience suggests 60 minutes is better than thirty. At first I was waiting about an hr to eat and have my other pills--vitamins and supplements. During this time I was coming out of hypo much too slowly, IMO, so I started delaying two to three hours, for both nutrient and pills. I felt the deviation very speedily after making that modify. Now I realize the vitamins incorporate several ingredients that are not to be taken for 4 hours following Synthroid. I've concluded the real problem for me was not in eating after lx minutes only taking the vitamins at that point. Now I try to consume nearly an 60 minutes post-obit the Synthroid but I wait 'til noon or the evening to take the vitamins and supplements. I know this tin can be a problem if you like to get upwards, catch a bite to eat and head out the door to work, all in the span of 15 or 20 minutes. You can't follow the proper regimen for Synthroid in less than an hour, and so you have to either get upward before (and savor a quiet and liesurely morning) or take/buy breakfast to be eaten later. |

My endo said to definitely await one hr.....but, he did say I can take a loving cup of coffee sooner.......thank god! He was very clear too most not taking calcium supplements within four hours of taking the pill. On those morn that I know I won't have an hour to expect earlier and need to eat and leave the house, I've woken upwards thirty min. earlier....taken the pill, and so stayed in bed and dozed a bit more. Information technology's been less than three weeks for me and I'yard still learning.....and it is a hurting to wait. But, I'1000 getting the hang of it and commencement to fall into a routine. |

In case it'due south helpful -- I am taking X2 6mcg time release T4 a day so my world looks like this: I am hypoglycimic, hypothyroid and less than a month on the T4 (tried Armour just it put me on the ceiling). I was having problem taking my thyroid at the right time. Information technology was hard to e'er take it an hour earlier or after eating, a lot of time I would forget and so information technology was time to eat again. When you lot work or merely stay busy it is e'er a For five weeks now I have been experimenting with putting my Synthroid tablet under my tongue and letting it deliquesce. I read about this on some other forum. It has not changed my feelings ane style or the other. I accept not go hyper or hypo. Later on I have my coffee and toast in the morning, I take my other meds and then put the Synthroid under my natural language and go about my business. I have not had to worry about when to take information technology. It has worked out fine, so far. If anyone else does this, I would like to hear well-nigh it. If I keep to feel well, I volition go along to do it. |

Hullo 4fabfelines, My surgeon said I would have no problem with whatsoever food - could eat anything after TT. Unfortunately, the surgeons sometimes have your intendance for 6 wks later on and they really don't know what they are talking nearly - they are cutters and not endos. Mine started me on 75 mcg after TT and should have started me on 100 - or at least 88. Food DOES make a difference. Await at least an hour to be safety mind to what Archie & ljrfrm brash. I've read that food may tiresome the process of the drug entering the tum and likewise may touch absorption of the drug by binding with it. It can decrease the body's ability to absorb the medication by changing the rate at which it dissolves or past irresolute the stomach'due south acrid balance. Md didn't say annihilation about non eating or when to take it etc. I read the characterization that said to take on an empty stomach or at least two hours after eating. The best time for me would be before bed. (its the just time I know I won't consume!!) But I take my birth control (necon) at night as well. Anyone know of whatsoever problems with this? I put a call into the gyn/ob simply oasis't received a response yet. |

In that location are so many pp on bc that I highly doubt bc causes it - merely that it causes you to get less apply of the thyroid meds you take, so yous need more than you would if you lot didn't take bc.
